We are proud to serve as a Gold sponsor in partnership with BStrong Together for this event!  This wonderful annual event brings our community together to promote the importance of mental and physical wellness, healthy families, and the power of connection.  It includes fun for the entire family including a short community walk around Citizens Park field beginning at 12 pm and booths from a wide variety of local organizations including us!

Plastic You Can't See, Everywhere You Look--Microplastics are turning up in Illinois's rivers, lakes, and streams — and a new statewide survey found them at 100% of sites tested, from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi. Join Emily Kowalski, co-author of Environment Illinois's groundbreaking report Microplastic in Illinois, for an eye-opening 45-minute talk on what's really flowing through our waterways, how it gets there, and what we can do about it. Come learn how something smaller than a grain of rice is reshaping Illinois's environment — and what it means for our water, wildlife, and all of us. Please join Fun and Fellowship  for sandwiches and polio poster making on October 23rd at 6 pm at Boloney's East Sandwich Shop at 113 E. Main St. in downtown Barrington. This will be a cash bar.

At approximately 7:30, we will be guided on a spooky tour of the Catlow Theatre using flashlights. Please register for this event.

Our club in partnership with Lake Zurich Rotary, Barrington After Hours Rotary and Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods Rotary is sponsoring a "World's Largest Polio Walk" on October 24.  The walk will be held at Citizens Park in Barrington.  The registration will begin at 9:00 and the walk will start at 10:00 am.  The walkers can choose either a 1k or a 5k.  There will also be the option of a virtual walk--so everyone can actually participate!!   Walkers will receive a T-shirt and will be encouraged to solicit donations from their networks.  Here is the sign up link :

We are also looking for businesses to be event sponsors, if you have a connection   The business will possibly receive publicity on the event website, have a table at the event, be listed on t-shirts, be thanked at the event and be on signage along the walk.

Rotarians and friends please join in cleaning Northwest Hwy. Meet at MaKray Golf Course parking lot, 1010 S. Northwest Highway, Barrington, IL.  Volunteers must be 8th grade or older and able to traverse uneven ground.  Wear gloves if you have them.  We will provide safety vests and bags.
