As part of our Rotary Friendship Exchange with our guests from Jaipur, India, we will be volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg. 

We are hosting a Farewell Reception for our Rotary Friendship Exchange with Rotarians from Jaipur, India.  We will gather at 5:30 with a short BRC meeting starting at 6PM followed by a potluck dinner and the Induction of Matt Downing.  

If you are not a resident of Lake Barrington Shores, please enter through the main gate off of Rt 59, just North of Miller Road.  Please obey the 20 MPH speed limit. The speed limit is monitored by unmanned radar.

Join Barrington Rotary Club for our Annual Family Picnic. Bring the family and invite a friend. The menu provided by the club will be BBQ Chicken and Tofu/Veggie Teriyaki. There will be lemonade and water available as well. Please RSVP by 9/5/2024.  BRC members can sign up guest via ClubRunner. Printable invite is in the email invite sent on 8/27/2024.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER FOR SET UP, FOOD (sidedishes and dessert), DRINKS (beer & wine), DISPOSABLES or CLEAN UP. All food items need to arrive by 4PM on Sept 8 at the beach.  All disposables, beer wine can be dropped off at Carol Hannagan's home (or at a meeting) by Sept 5, 2024 so we have it before the event starts.  Please keep hot items hot and cold items cold when transporting. 

For those signing up to volunteer:  We are expecting 50+ people

Please remember when coming into LBS, guests will need to enter through the main gate, just north of Miller Rd on Route 59.  Just give the gate attendant your name and tell them you are going to the Rotary picnic at the beach. Speed limit in LBS is 20 MPH and is strictly enforced by unmanned radar.

To consider Rotary’s encouragement for Clubs to participate and include other non-profit organizations that promote similar values, we budgeted a $250 Bronz Sponsorship to B-STRONG’s 3rd Annual FREE Community Wellness Walk & Family Health Fair, on Sunday, September 22nd from 12-2pm in Citizens Park.

This is an event at BHS that needs 140 volunteers to help screen for cardiac conditions in athletes.  Chief Scott Motisi brought this to our attention.  The volunteers need a training session and then a volunteer time.  Sign up here: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/592099900083/false#/invitation

Our club will run a free BINGO game at this event beginning about 5:15 pm until prizes run out.  Afterward, we will stay to enjoy the food and festivities.  This is at Freier Farm in Lake Barrington.  You may register to attend the event for the fun (food, drink, music, activities) but it isn't necessary.  We would like people to volunteer to help at the BINGO that we will run for about one hour    We probably need about 10 people to help out .  Please see the Volunteer link

The BAVC will be hosting a Non Profit event where many local non profit organizations will be able to meet with members of the community to talk about their need for volunteers or new members. 

This event will be held at the Barrington Library from 1-4pm. 

Pat B and Terry C will be hosting the BRC table and would welcome any other club members to join us. 

Please reach out to either of us if you are able to join us.

The Village of Barrington has asked us to help plant 570 plants October 19 at 8:00am.  We will meet at the BMO Harris parking lot off Cook Street.  Wear appropriate clothes (Rotary hat/shirt).  Bring gloves and planting tools.  This event ends when all is planted so the more hands, the easier the job!!   Since this is Saturday-- bring friends, family, teens to help out.

Bacoa is handling logistics and volunteers for the Mid Mod Barrington House Tour happening Sunday, October 19th from 10-4 pm. We need volunteers to make this a success.  This event will yield $25,000 to help aging adults in our community.

Lunch meeting at Ciao Baby

Join BRC for fun, fellowship and cooking demonstrations.  PLEASE RSVP by 11/10/2024.  Cocktails at 5PM, Class at 6PM.  Please bring a bottle of wine to share or BYOB. Water and Holiday Cocktail & Mocktail will be available.  We will not need any appetizers volunteers for this class.

Our Club is sponsoring an Art Contest "Celebrate Our Differences" for D220 students from preschool through high school.  We will meet to judge the entries tentatively on November 18 in the morning.  We will meet at BHS Fine Arts Department .  If you would like to volunteer to judge the entries, please sign up!!

In association with staff at Sunny Hill School, we will shop for several needy families.  The families are identified by teachers at the school.  We are given a list of the children's age and sex with a few items that they may like.  We then bring the items to Sunny Hill School where they will be handed out .  You may sign up here through this Survey Monkey link.               https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TT29NZ7

Barrington Rotary helps out at Barrington Giving Day (BGD) each year.  This year it will run for 3 days at Barrington Middle School Station campus.  BGD has reserved for Rotary to run the bag storage station on Saturday.  However, if Saturday is nit convenient for you, consider volunteering for. Our club sponsored an Art Contest in collaboration with D220.  Students submitted art work on the theme of "Celebrate Our Differences."  Winners have been chosen and in 5 categories-- ELC, Elementary, Middle School, High School and Transitional Learning-- the first prize winner will receive $100.   Art will be displayed at the BHS Gallery during Winter Fest  
 

On the evening of Friday, December 13 at 5:30 pm will will recognize the winners   We encourage any Rotary member to attend   This will be at the high school art gallery   Winter Fest will be going on and you may stay and see singers, dancers and other activities that evening!!

Thank you for Volunteering to place wreaths for National Wreaths Across America Day in 2023. I am the Location Coordinator for ILEGCA - Evergreen Cemetery Association, Barrington, IL, and I am writing with information about this year's ceremony. 

Wreaths Across America Day will take place on Saturday, December 14th, beginning with a brief Memorial Service at noon. We have tried to streamline the process of wreath retrieval following the Memorial Service, and your time outdoors on the cemetery grounds will likely be less than one hour if you place two wreaths.
