We have an opportunity to partner with the Barrington Lions club by helping out at the Brat Tent which will be open from July 2- July5. The Lions club has posted their needs on the Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) at the following link.
Please note if you don't have an account with BAVC you will be prompted to sign up for one. This is another way to learn about the volunteer opportinities in our community!
Todd Sholeen has signed up to work Thursday 7/3 from 12-3p, lets see if we can get other BRC members to join him! If that time doesn't work for you choose one that does!
If you are able to help out please wear your Rotarian at work T shirt and or hat. This is a great way to show our community how our non profit clubs work together!

CALLING ALL ROTARIANS!! A BRC member needs your help as they navigate some health challenges over the next few months. Please click on the VOLUNTEER link to sign up to bring a meal to Paul Berlin on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 3PM and 5PM. There will be a cooler by his front door and you can text him when you are on the way or simply just leave in the cooler. Please wear a mask if you converse with Paul as his immune system will be compromised with his chemo treatments. Paul lives at 476 Woodview Rd in Lake Barrington Shores. Volunteers that do not live in LBS will have to enter through the front gate on Rt 59, just north of Miller Rd. Give your name to the gate attendant, Paul's name and address and tell them you are delivering Rotary Friendship Meals then proceed to Pauls address SPPED LIMIT IS 20 MPH and strictly enforced by unmanned radar cameras. Any issues, call Carol 847-878-0288 DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: No spinach, lower protein, low carb with lots of cooked vegetable. Paul likes salad too but is encouraged to limit his raw vegetable intake the first few weeks. Same goes for dairy, salt and spicy food please. This does not mean he can't have them, just limiting them. I will update this event after a few weeks and add meal volunteer opportunities as soon as we have a better idea of how Paul's appetite is responding to Chemo. He has twelve weeks of chemo. As a diabetic and also managing kidney disease, Paul is trying to eat more smaller meals each day so he can spread out his protein and carbs. A regular size meal that he can split into two or three is perfect. Aside from spinach allergy, he is not picky at all, loves fish, vegetables, fruit and soups. Feel free to do a breakfast, lunch or dinner. He love to shop the prepared foods at Heinens so if you are not a chef by all means, shop away. Please bring your meal in a disposable container, preferable one that can be recycled. A card or note is greatly appreciated. GIBSON MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER AND ART AUCTION – OCTOBER 8TH Past District Governor Suzanne Gibson and her husband Mark “Made A Difference” in our District and especially in Guatemala. Suzanne championed projects there to improve nutrition, literacy, and vocational education. Mark was our District’s first Environmental Chair and had a passion for pollination and the reduction of plastics. Their impact on many of us was considerable. Sadly, Mark passed away in January 2023 and Suzanne earlier this year, January 2025. The Rotary Club of Barrington is holding a unique fundraising auction on October 8th at the Wild Onion Pub in Lake Barrington. Items have been donated from the Gibson estate and funds raised will go to the Suzanne and Mark Gibson Memorial Fund, to continue and support efforts that where near and dear to Suzanne and Mark. But this isn’t just any auction! It’s the “Donate to Donate” Auction – an opportunity to give twice. Bid on a wide variety of unique pieces during both live and silent auctions. If you’d like to keep your winning items, they’re yours to treasure. Or if you prefer, you can “donate your donation” by letting the club pass them along to local groups who will put them to good use. It’s a win-win way to celebrate generosity, share stories, and have some fun – and honor the memory of two tremendous Rotarians. The cost is $36 per person, which includes appetizers, dessert, and soft drinks. There is a cash bar. Doors open at 6:30, and the auction kicks off at 7:00. BRC Members Register here, pay via Zelle (info@barringtonrotary.org) or check to BRC. BRC Members can register guests in ClubRunner. Non BRC Members can register by email to BRCtreasurers@gmail.com ALL GUESTS MUST REGISTER BY 9/28/2025. No late registrations will be accepted. Please have payment at event check in. ZELLE - info@barringtonrotary.org Mail your check to Barrington Rotary Club, 117 S. Cook Street #320, Barrington 60010. Payments will be accepted at the event as long as you are preregistered in ClubRunner by 9/28/2025. No late registrations will be accepted. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by SEPTEMBER 28, 2025. BRC Members can register guests in ClubRunner. Space is limited to 100 guests. Thank you. BRC Fun & Fellowship Committee Sue & Wendy |

We will meet at Clay Monet in Lake Zurich to do a craft project and socialize. The actual event start is 6 pm, but we can apparently arrive 15 minutes early to set up and pick our the object that you want to paint! You will choose the item that you want to paint and pay for the item yourself. That is your only fee. We will have a party room available there for our use and we can bring snacks, beverages and wine. Please sign up to bring a snack or beverage to share. I (Kris Young) will bring silverware, cups, plates and napkins for us! There will probably be about 20 of us present. You can bring a family member or friend too as the party room is apparently large. Clay Monet is located at : 532 West Rt 22, Lake Zurich
